Our Approach
At Your Psychology we provide psychological counselling using traditional methods for the treatment of mental and emotional disorders. There are many orientations to psychological counselling, however we mostly utilise Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Schema Therapy and EMDR Therapy due to considerable empirically based research that suggests their effectiveness. Psychological counselling ultimately aims to reduce distress and improve functioning of clients, which promotes subjective wellbeing and personal development.
Throughout our first few sessions we will be evaluating your needs. By using the assessment process and goals we develop in session, we will be able to formulate with you some direction for counselling and a treatment plan
